Saint Lambert Chapel: A Historic Gem in Heverlee, Leuven

Nestled in the tranquil Arenberg Castle Park in Heverlee, Leuven, the Saint Lambert Chapel (Sint-Lambertuskapel) stands as a testament to the area's rich history. Originally serving the Heverlee sub-parish, the chapel was historically linked to the Sint-Anna parish in Oud-Heverlee until 1757.

The origins of the chapel date back to the 11th century, when it was first constructed entirely of wood. Over time, the chapel gained prominence within the parish, leading to its reconstruction in stone during the 12th and 13th centuries. This upgrade included the addition of a fortified tower, further emphasizing its significance in the region.

Today, the Saint Lambert Chapel remains a key historical landmark, reflecting the architectural evolution and religious heritage of Leuven.
